PITTOAUG Welcome, Board Announcements TITLE: How to manage a successful R12 upgrade and overcome the challenges – Methodology and tips that work.
ABSTRACT: Are you ready to upgrade? Beware…R12 is not your typical upgrade! It is different from the previous point release upgrades that the technical staff handled with the 11i applications. The technology and tools are better but the challenges are different. Because of the user interface overhaul (look & feel plus application navigation) and other changes, all of your Oracle applications users will have to adjust. You will need to approach and manage this upgrade differently.
We’ll take you through what you need to know to succeed and discuss what makes R12 different. We’ll share the secrets of what you need to do, and where to find the answers. This presentation is for anyone who needs to plan, manage, or be part of an upgrade. It covers the upgrade from a 360 degree view and puts it into perspective. From planning to process to resources and management, we’ll give you the full picture of how it happens, when, and how it comes together. In addition we’ll share the methodology and tips we have used in delivering successful R12 upgrades.

TITLE: ROI PERSPECTIVES for EBS R12 UPGRADE With "soft" benefits easy to define, justifying an upgrade with tangible, hard cash ROI can be a challenge for any organization. Organizations need to focus on their people and process, rather than just the technology, when considering an upgrade. In order to make an informed decision regarding an upgrade investment one needs to take a view from three perspectives: purely technical, functionality improvement, and business process enhancement. But to properly define a tangible ROI, organizations need to assign return to all three. By quantifying opportunities for improvement within each key business function, businesses can accurately project cash flow and ROI impacts that justify both the out-of-pocket and opportunity costs of an upgrade project.
